If you’re a coffee lover like me, I want you to hear me out, don’t scroll on! Don’t exit screen! Just hear me out and I PROMISE you’ll be glad you did!

For a lot of us, being in lockdown and working from home has meant that we missed out on our daily take away coffees from our favourite cafes. Starting my day with tasty coffee was something I really began to miss (they do say it’s the little things in life…) and so having seen a lot about Pact Coffee on social media I thought it was time to give it a try. I’d fallen into the trap of online shopping quite a bit during lockdown with some epic fails, I was sceptical, but I am here to tell you that all of the amazing reviews for this coffee are well deserved!

Pact Coffee is an award winning, ethical company set up in 2012 to revolutionise the coffee industry. In recent years, the demand for coffee all over the world has been greater than ever before, but the people at the heart of the coffee industry have been losing. To be honest, I didn’t think much about where my coffee came from until a few years ago when I visited Salento, a small coffee region in Colombia, whilst travelling in South America. It was a beautiful place to visit and the coffee was, as expected, delicious but locals shared that they were in crisis – the farmers sold their coffee at a loss and were barely earning living wages. I must admit that I soon failed to remember this injustice whilst sipping coffee back in London with my friends. However, I was reminded of this reality when I saw that Pact’s mission was to change the coffee industry through a direct-trade model. This means that they source the world’s best beans directly from the farmers (like those I met in Salento) who don’t lose out, but get paid what they deserve in return. This emphasis on direct-trade and ethics was a serious plus for me and being able to enjoy the freshest most delicious coffee from my home made it a win win!

Pact’s site is really easy to navigate and creating an account was optional so I simply created a coffee plan, chose express checkout and my coffee arrived the very next day! When I received my first order through the door I cannot even begin to describe the most delicious, fresh and fragrant smell that came with it. Upon opening the bag a waft of aroma hit me and I could not wait to give it a try! Unsurprisingly, Pact’s award-winning coffee is 100% speciality grade, roasted fresh for your order, and ground just moments before it’s shipped. They offer over 15 different rotating coffees at any given time, for example Colombian coffee with hints of cocoa, Rwandan coffee with hints of blackberry and Brazilian coffee with hints of bourbon cream biscuits. Whatever your preference, Pact offers a variety of flavours, with different levels of acidity, heaviness and sweetness, as well as regular and decaffeinated options. They also come in bags of ground or whole bean offerings. If you don’t have a machine or cafetiere at home, the site offers all of the tools you need such as filters, grinders and coffee drippers in various colours and materials. I went for the best selling discovery pack to get me started which includes 4 different coffees, the hario V60 dripper, a measuring scoop and 40 biodegradable filters all for £28 and it arrived the next day! I loved the discovery pack so much that I then want on to a subscription as well as buying a subscription as a present for my parents, who loved it as much as I did – my Dad says it’s the tastiest cup of coffee he’s ever had and he’s not prone to giving compliments…!

In line with their ethics, Pact offers a really easy and flexible service. It’s not one of those annoying companies that make you sign up for subscriptions that are impossible to change or cancel. You can tailor your orders to select exactly what and how you want, as well as when you want it to be delivered. The packaging is letterbox friendly, so again, hassle free and you can pause, cancel or change your plan anytime online.

From start to finish I have fallen in love with this company and had to share my experience! In a nutshell, Pact delivers fresh, ethically sourced coffee through your letterbox so that you can sip on amazing, tasty coffee AND feel great knowing that you are helping to transform the coffee industry. Give it a try with £5 off your first order (use code LIFESTYLE at checkout) and as soon as you open the bag and smell the freshness you will see exactly what I mean!
